Board Performance, Effectiveness Evaluation & Review 

We are an independent practice led by experienced advisors focused on helping organisations develop governance best practice among Boards and individual directors.  We do not have a rigid approach. We assess the needs of each individual client and design and deliver relevant programmes. Each assignment is, therefore, bespoke to the client and relevant to their current circumstances and requirements.  

We work as part of the Board Evaluation partnership whose range of clients extends from listed companies to smaller privately owned firms as well as public sector and third sector organisations. 

The programmes we deliver range from comprehensive Board Effectiveness and Board Governance reviews (which are a regulatory requirement for listed companies) to short programmes such as strategy and financial awareness workshops and one-to-one consultancy and coaching. The assessment of Board performance and effectiveness is central to good corporate governance. 
 
To enable clients to carry out their own diagnostic reviews of Board performance you can use the 'Board Effectiveness Questionnaire'. This on-line tool is regularly updated to reflect changing governance best practice and the results of our experience from running the questionnaire in live situations. This tool is used by BEL consultants when carrying out board effectiveness assignments but it is also available for clients to buy and use as their own in-house tool.

Governance Review? 
Undertake a comprehensive and objective assessment of how the Board complies with its legal, regulatory and fiduciary responsibilities. 
 
Any areas of non-compliance or areas of concern are identified and guidance is provided regarding best practice and how improved governance can improve business performance.

This level 5 qualification has three assessment methodologies all of which must be completed to the standards and satisfaction of the ILM Assessor and External Verifier.
